ABOUT DOM

Dom is a proud father and husband. He is dedicated to looking after his family, his wellbeing and just being a good Kiwi bloke.

Outside of his home life Dom has a passion for psychology and helping those who want to better their life. Dom has been a registered clinical psychologist since 2013. His education began at Otago University where he gained a Bachelor of Science, and Master of Science (with Distinction) in Psychology. In 2011 Dom moved to the Waikato to complete his Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology.  

Dom works with and has particular interest in sport/ performance psychology, sleep psychology and clinical psychology. He has a history of working within Corrections, forensics and mental health. Since 2015 Dom has worked in Private Practice and contracts to several different organisations as well as taking on his own individual clients.

Dom primarily uses Cognitive Behaviour Therapy intervention with his work. However, one size does not fit all, nor is any individual the same. Therefore Dom is also adapting in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Mindfulness Based therapies to help customise a strengths-based approach to best suit his clients.  

Dom listens to a client's journey and helps people reach their potential to be the best they can be. He prides himself on providing a reliable and genuine experience to all his clients.

Dom works with several sports teams as well as contracts to multiple organisations. These include: Black Ferns Rugby 7s, Canoe Racing New Zealand, Auckland Aces Cricket, Waikato BOP Magic Netball, Football Ferns Development Programme, EdenSleep Clinic, Active +, ACC and High Performance Sport NZ.

Dom is an active member of the New Zealand Psychological Society. 
Members are able to access a range of benefits to support them in their roles as practitioners, educators and researchers. The Society aims to improve individual and community well-being by representing, promoting and advancing the practice of psychology.

Dom is a Registered Clinical Psychologist and adheres to the legal and ethical obligations outlines and require by the New Zealand Psychologists Board.
